The Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) was established as the world's first dedicated national greenhouse agency to drive Australia's progressive agenda on greenhouse response. Its tasks include providing the comprehensive framework and scientific services necessary to account to an internationally credible level for Australia's emissions reduction and sink enhancement activities in land-based sources and sinks - to develop a robust, rigorous and credible land-based National Carbon Accounting System (NCAS).
